Con voz y voto
Authors: Charo Garcés Jan Peter Nauta
This advanced conversation course takes its title from an expression used in meetings and assemblies to indicate that those present have the right to speak and to vote on the subject under discussion. "Con voz y voto" presents a series of nine situations, all in some way related to Spain or the study of Spanish. In each case the students are required to discuss various options, and to reach a joint decision. To help them, students are offered a variety of authentic written and recorded documents, which exploit and develop their reading and listening skills to the full.
"Con voz y voto" allows for a mixture of work styles: the presentation and discussion phases take place in the classroom, while the study of the supporting documents is designed for working alone, in pairs or in small groups.
The cassette contains recordings of interviews, radio broadcasts, telephone calls, etc, in a variety of dialects and registers. The teacher's book includes a complete transcript of this material and, of course, detailed suggestions for controlling and guiding what should be very lively, realistic and enjoyable debates.
