For students who have acquired a solid grounding in the basic language skills and want to broaden their command of Spanish to the point where they can participate in serious communication with Spanish speakers.

Unusually for an advanced course it adheres firmly to communicative strategies, rather than the structural, grammar-based methodology typical at this level. Motivation and active student involvement are emphasised at every stage; the language and its correct usage are presented as the means to an end, rather than as theoretical constructs.

Each of the 12 units comprises a series of tasks and activities in which the student must use practical communicative skills to complete. Grammar is presented in the context of these activities.
